Your privacy is important to ChapterSyncTM . ChapterSyncTM is committed to protecting any personally identifiable information you may provide through ChapterSync.com.

Collected Information

ChapterSync.com has the ability to collect two types of information about you: (a) information that you provide that personally identifies you and (b) information that does not  personally identify you that ChapterSyncTM automatically collects when you visit ChapterSync.com or that you provide ChapterSync.

  • Personally identifiable information: ChapterSync’s definition of personally identifiable information includes any information that may be used to specifically identify or contact you, such as your name, postal and email addresses, phone number, credit card information, etc. In certain circumstances, ChapterSyncTM may request, allow, or otherwise provide you an opportunity to submit your personally identifiable information in connection with a feature, program promotion or some other aspect of ChatperSync.com. For instance, you may: (a) provide your name, address and email address to register on ChapterSync.com to use the ChapterSyncTM marketing platform; (b) provide certain demographic information about yourself (e.g. age, gender, preference, usage, frequency, etc.) when participating in a survey, poll or registering on ChapterSync.com; (c) provide payment information when ordering products or services on ChapterSync.com; (d) post a general comment and/or recommendation on ChapterSync.com. Other Uses and Information

IP Addresses

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Internet. Web servers (computers that “serve up” web pages) automatically identify your computer by its IP address. When visitors request pages from ChapterSync.com, ChapterSync’s servers typically log their IP addresses. ChapterSyncTM collects IP addresses for purposes of system administration, to report non-personal aggregate information to others and to track the use of ChapterSync.com. IP addresses are considered non-personal information and also may be shared as provided above. It is not ChapterSync’s practice to link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable; that is, the visitor’s session will be logged, but the visitor remains anonymous to ChapterSync. Cookies.

“Cookies” are small text files from a website that are stored on your hard drive. These text files make using ChpaterSync.com more convenient by, among other things, saving your preference for you. Cookies themselves do not typically contain any personally identifiable information. ChapterSyncTM may analyze the information derived from these cookies and other technological tools ChapterSyncTM employs (such as clear gifts/web beacons) and match this information with data provided by you or another party.

ChapterSyncTM may provide analysis and certain non-personal information to third-parties (who may in turn use this information to provide advertisements tailored to your interests), but this will not involve disclosing any of your personally identifiable information. Please note that advertisers that serve advertisements on ChapterSync.com and third-party content providers that serve content on ChapterSync.com also may use their own cookies and other technological tools which are subject to the advertiser’s privacy policies, not this Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of ChapterSync.com, compiling reports on ChapterSync.com activity for website operators and providing other services relating to ChapterSync.com activity and Internet usage.

Google may use the data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. Google also may transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of ChapterSync.com. Email Communications.

If you send ChapterSyncTM an email with questions or comments, ChapterSyncTM may use your personally identifiable information to respond to your questions or comments, and ChapterSyncTM may save your questions or comments for future reference. For security reasons, ChapterSyncTM does not recommend that you send non-public personal information, such as passwords, credit card information, social security numbers or bank account information to ChapterSyncTM by email. However, aside from ChapterSync’s reply to such an email, it is not standard practice to send your email unless you request a particular service or sign up for a feature that involves email communications, it relates to purchases you  have made with ChapterSyncTM (e.g. product updates, customer support, etc.) ChapterSyncTM sending you information about other products or services or you consented to being contact by email for a particular purpose. In certain instances, ChapterSyncTM may provide you with the option to set your preference for receiving email communications; that is, agree to some communications, but not others. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, ChapterSyncTM reserves the right to disclose any personally identifiable or non-personal information about you if ChapterSyncTM is required to do so by law, with respect to copyright and other intellectual property infringement claims, or if ChapterSyncTM believes that such action is necessary to: (a) fulfill a government request; (b) conform with the requirements of the law or legal process; (c) protect or defend ChapterSync’s legal rights or property, ChapterSync.com, or other users; or (d) in an emergency to protect the health and safety of ChapterSync.com’s users or the general public.

Your California Privacy Rights.

Residents of the State of California, under certain provisions of the California Civil Code, have the right to request from companies conducting business in California a list of all third parties to which the company has disclosed certain personally identifiable information as defined under California law during the preceding year for third party direct marketing purposes.

You are limited to one request per calendar year. Public Forums

ChapterSyncTM may use personally identifiable and non-personal information about you to identify you with a posting in a public forum. ChapterSyncTM takes special care to protect the safety and privacy of children. ChapterSyn.com is a general audience site. Nevertheless, the features, programs, promotions, services and other aspects of ChapterSync.com requiring the submission of personally identifiable information are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. Collection of Information By Third-Party Sites, Ad Servers and Sponsors

ChapterSync.com may contain links to other third party sites that it does not control or maintain. These sites may have information practices different from ChapterSync. You should exercise caution and consult the privacy notices of all third party websites before accessing such websites, as ChapterSyncTM has no control over what information is submitted to, or collected by these third parties. ChapterSyncTM has no control over the privacy practices employed by any third party website or any third party products or services. Therefore, ChapterSyncTM cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information that you provide while visiting such websites and such websites are not governed by this Privacy Policy.
